Yuri Semenovich Evseev was a painter and member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Born in 1933 in the Akmola region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he spent his childhood, youth, and studies in Karaganda. His first painting teacher was the artist V. A. Eifert. Yuri graduated from the Penza Art College named after K. A. Savitsky. He moved to Shymkent in southern Kazakhstan. Before joining the creative group "saA," he worked primarily in the context of socialist realism.

The artist's mature work explores the relationship between Western European and Asian artistic schools in their fundamentally different orientations in terms of spatio-temporal coordinate systems, the role of humans in the environment, and their conflicting approaches to solving colour-plastic problems. Harmony, permeating all spheres of human-space relationships, is an absolute priority for the artist. He discovers this harmony in everything: still life, landscape, and religious culture. The last ten years of his life he lived and worked in Adygea.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions. Yuri Evseev's works are held in museums and art collections in Kazakhstan, and a significant portion was acquired by the Almaty Museum.
